The wait is almost over, Proxies. Following the "Champions Never Fall to the Past" Special Program, HoYoverse has officially unveiled the details for Zenless Zone Zero (ZZZ) Version 2.7, and it is shaping up to be a massive update for fans of the virtual idol scene .
Scheduled to go live on March 24, 2026, this update finally completes the Angels of Delusion faction by introducing their captain and lead dancer, Nangong Yu, to the battlefield. But that’s not all; alongside her comes a major new tournament arc, quality-of-life improvements for faction collectors, and a new high-stakes boss fight.

The Hollow Champion Tournament
Version 2.7 shifts the narrative focus to a massive spectacle known as the Hollow Champion competition. Hosted by the enigmatic corporation TOPS, this tournament draws fighters from across New Eridu to compete for honor and rare rewards, including the coveted Porcelloy W-Engine .
Players will see a convergence of familiar and new factions. The Cunning Hares and the Sons of Calydon are returning to the spotlight, but they will be joined by the newly introduced Metropolitan Order Division. This sets the stage for intense faction-vs-faction combat, giving players a chance to see their favorite agents interact in a high-stakes competitive environment.
New Boss: Black Wolf Romeul
Proxies looking for a challenge will face off against Romeul, also known as the "Black Wolf". This wanted criminal brings a unique tactical mechanic to the fight. During combat, Romeul deploys a Corruptive Barrier that significantly boosts his resistance to critical damage and interruption while actively draining your squad's HP. To counter this, HoYoverse is encouraging players to utilize Anomaly-focused team compositions, as continuous Attribute Anomaly damage is the most effective way to break his defense.
New Playable Agents
The highlight of the 2.7 roster update is the completion of the Angels of Delusion faction with the arrival of two S-Rank agents.
Nangong Yu (S-Rank, Ether, Stun)
The star of the update is Nangong Yu, the captain and lead dancer of the Angels of Delusion. As the final member of the faction, she brings a unique "Dance Points" mechanic to the Stun role. Nangong Yu specializes in extending the window of opportunity during enemy Stun states and supercharging her team’s Anomaly damage .
- Kit Overview: Nangong Yu utilizes a resource called Dance Points, which regenerate over time or when teammates trigger Anomalies. She spends these points on powerful charged attacks that not only deal massive Daze but also extend the duration of the Stun effect on enemies .
- Unique Mechanic – Polarity Disorder: Unlike traditional Stun agents, Nangong Yu interacts directly with the Anomaly system. Her core passive introduces Polarity Disorder, a special type of Disorder effect that deals damage without clearing the existing Attribute Anomaly on the enemy. This allows your Anomaly DPS characters to continue dealing damage while she amplifies the team's output.
- Ultimate: Her ultimate, Ethereal Veil: Bis of Delusion, provides a squad-wide Attack buff, solidifying her role as a premier support-stun hybrid for Anomaly teams .
Cissia (S-Rank, Electric, Attack)
Joining from the new Metropolitan Order Division faction, Cissia is a snake Thiren (a human with animal traits) who brings a deadly "Venom" mechanic to the Attack role.
- Kit Overview: Cissia starts battles with stacks of Venom. These stacks deal additional Electric damage and boost her critical hit rate . She can refresh these stacks using her EX Special Attack and unleash them in a devastating burst via her Basic Attack, Serpent's Kiss . This makes her an ideal agent for players who enjoy high burst damage windows.
Rerun Banners
If you missed them the first time, Version 2.7 will also feature reruns of popular S-Rank agents. The first half of the update will feature **Nangong Yu** alongside the Ice character **Yidhari**. The second half will feature Cissia alongside the Electric Attack agent Seed.
Quality of Life: Permanent Faction Rewards
One of the most player-friendly announcements concerns the Angels of Delusion faction collection rewards.
Previously, there was concern that the "Angel’s Invitation" event—which rewards players with cosmetic items like pendants, themes, and a dynamic wallpaper for collecting all three Angels (Sunna, Aria, and Nangong Yu) would expire after Version 2.7.
However, HoYoverse has confirmed that this event is being made permanent. This means there is no longer any time pressure to pull for all three idols immediately. If you only have Sunna or Aria now, you can wait for future rerun banners to collect Nangong Yu and still claim the exclusive rewards later. This is a significant reduction in FOMO (Fear Of Missing Out) for collectors.
Events and New Game Modes
Beyond the main story and characters, Version 2.7 is packed with activities to keep Proxies busy .
- Simmer Hotpot Restaurant Event:
Head to Lumina Square to help the owner Blaze with a food-themed event. Expect a series of light-hearted mini-games centered around the city’s famous hot pot.
- HSOS 6 Special Mission:
A new combat commission will challenge players to use three teams of two characters each in a relay-style battle, testing the depth of your roster.
- Simulated Battle Trial Update:
The endgame combat simulation is getting a major refresh with new enemy lineups, scoring bonuses, and leaderboard rewards. High-ranking players can earn exclusive titles, namecards, and Polychromes .
